Who is SCBL

 

Sudanese Campaign to Ban Landmines SCBL is a civil society network, which has emerged in July 1997. The network composed of non-governmental organizations, up to now it has (69) members. SCBL works in conformity with values of ICBL “For Sudan Free From The Scourge of Antipersonnel Landmines”. SCBL is working in various landmines pillars mainly, Mine Risk Education MRE, advocacy, Victim Assistance and demining.

 SCBL is a pioneer HMA network in Sudan working to protect innocent people from the remnants of war towards community development

History in points

SCBL founded in 1997. Since our foundation was before the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) signing in Sudan, SCBL had a challenge distance to cross during the pre-peace period. After the CPA (2005) the crucial part in our marathon mission was already stepped.

Our mission is to is to establish mine action in Sudan through the following:

  • Advocacy raising (Mine Risk Education)

  • Victim Assistance.

  • De-mining Activities.
